Get Into Your Body™ Programme
By The Ixchel System
One programme, three levels, each designed to bring more ease into your life.

Get Into Your Body taught me how to stop creating my chronic pain, and how to avoid creating new pains in future. My life and body was so profoundly changed by it, that I became a trainee practitioner!
Get Into Your Body™ is the signature biomechanics course by The Ixchel System, for anyone who wants to learn once and for all how to reduce pain, improve mobility and their general physical and emotional health - for life.
I went through Level 1 and 2 myself and used what I learned to resolve my chronic sciatica pain. I also saw general improvements to my posture - a reduced 'neck hump' that was forming due to being bent over my phone and laptop, a flatter belly due to my pelvis being in a more neutral position, and less symptoms related to 'bad posture' - acid reflux, air hunger, hiccoughs, period pain and probably more that I don't even realise is related (any symptom created by lack of blood flow will be improved with better posture).
What Is Biomechanics?

Biomechanics is simply how your bones stack, how your joints move, and how your muscles work together so you can stand, walk, breathe and generally be a human.
However, it's common for bones and joints to become misaligned due to:
-
Sitting, standing, lying, or walking in a sub-optimal way (perhaps due to our shoes, clothing, weak muscles or hyper-mobility).
-
Physical compensations after an injury e.g. habitually placing more weight in one leg than the other, after a broken leg has healed.
-
Daily activities that take you out of alignment for long periods of time e.g. sitting at a desk, using your phone, cleaning, using machinery, or simply carrying bags.
-
Emotional trauma causing a change in general posture e.g. hunching over with grief.
When your posture is misaligned and your biomechanics aren't working efficiently, your entire body, including your organs, are no longer able to function optimally - and this often creates chronic physical or emotional pain and disease.
Yep you read that correctly - 'bad posture' can create chronic pain and/or diseases or syndromes simply due to your posture restricting blood/lymph flow to the area!
What Does The Programme Consist Of?

In Get Into Your Body Level 1, you learn a total of 48 simple biomechanic practices, divided into 7 modules, over 7 weeks.
First you'll watch, read, or hear about that week's movement videos online (we cater for all types of learners), then you'll practise them over the week and write down notes about how your body is responding.
Then you'll have a weekly 1:1 session with me, either online or in-person (if within the catchment area), to check you're doing the movements correctly and give any helpful tips and pointers.
You'll also be able to join in with weekly group 'check-ins' over Zoom, to keep up your practises and meet the community and other practitioners.
How Much Time Should I Set Aside For This?

To watch each week's videos you may need up to 30 minutes on the first day of the week, then only 10 minutes a day for the rest of the week to practise the movements, until our hour long 1:1 session.
So that's:
- 30 Minutes once a week to learn the movements
- 10 minutes each day to practise the movements
- 1 hour a week for our 1:1 session
- Optional: 1 hour for the group 'check-in' video call
Can I spread it out?
Victoria, who created the Get Into Your Body Programme, has found that people truly immersing themselves in the movements and programme over 7 weeks, had a better outcome than people who spread the programme out over a longer period of time. Of course if there is sudden illness, or a 1:1 session has to be postponed, the programme will run a little longer, however 7 weeks in the sweet spot if possible!
You also don't need to worry about getting every movement perfectly integrated within 7 weeks - that's just the learning period. You should continue to practise the movements learned on-goingly after you finish the programme as part of your daily routine (or at least a few times a week), so you can continue to realign yourself as needed.
On Being A Case Study
As I am still in training, you'd be working with me as a case study.
What does this mean for you?
- I will need to film each 1:1 session and upload it to The Ixchel System's internal file system, so that Victoria, creator of the course, can check my teaching. It will never be shared or viewed by the public.
- You'll need to fill out a quick feedback form after each session (takes 5 minutes)
- The 1:1 sessions will be cheaper for you than if I was fully qualified.
Its been good to revisit Level 1 after an injury. The 121 sessions helped me understand the big differences between how I perceived my posture and gait, and what was actually happening. The sessions have helped bring more awareness of posture and movement in my daily life.
